About Ariya Neurocare

Specialist brain-injury rehabilitation, built around the person.

We are a specialist acquired brain injury (ABI) provider. Across three services in Derbyshire and South Yorkshire, we offer transitional and residential rehabilitation and community supported living — in high-quality, deliberately non-clinical homes.

A human-focussed ethos

At Ariya we believe you should be in control of your rehabilitation and support. We have a person-centred ethos, and work with each individual to maximise their engagement, decision-making and autonomy through personalised support planning. Where someone has limited capacity to make more significant life decisions, we support them by taking their likes and dislikes into account, working with relatives and the care team to find the best solutions.

The focus of our services is to maximise independence and to develop skills and confidence in an enjoyable, relaxed living environment. We appreciate rehabilitation can be hard work, so we place great importance on balancing that effort with positivity, good humour and a good level of fun — because that’s what helps people continue with, and realise, their goals.

An interdisciplinary team

Each service has an on-site neurological Occupational Therapist and a proactive clinical neuro-psychology overview, supported by an Assistant Psychologist through the week. Neuro-physiotherapy and neuro-speech & language therapy are integrated into a person’s package as their needs require. Our highly trained support team runs the programmes set by therapists through daily, functional goals — so therapy is practised within everyday life, not confined to a treatment room.

We also have a Peer Support Worker within the therapy team who has experienced a brain injury themselves. Their real, lived experience supports people in our services and deepens the understanding of the whole staff team.

Investing in our people

Our staff team have ongoing training in acquired brain injury through our graded development programme. We believe that investing in and developing our staff means they are better equipped to help people progress — and the quality of our staff directly shapes the quality of the service we provide, so we take great care over recruitment and training.
